A 330 in front of a Princeton on half volume is a lot of fun, but I can see how they might be hard going into a dimed 100w Marshall.Ī few players started using them in the mid 90s, and I remember seeing Bernard Butler, William Reid from JAMC, and Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse all playing 330s at live shows around then and Paul Weller was often seen with a vintage Casino, and the prices started going up rapidly around then. 330s were considered virtually unusable for many years - you almost never see them in photos of 70s acts as they were thought to be uncontrollable at the volume levels commonly used, which they probably were. ![]()
